Destiny

Destiny

A Poem by Barbara Walker

I'm barely able to walk with a cane,

body is filled with so much pain.

So much time lost, laying down,

my cries, the only sound.

Please, give me a break!

Somebody, tell me there's been a mistake!

I wasn't through,

so much more I want to do.

For an awesome lark,

I'd like to take my grandkids to a water park.

I want to take them on mountain hikes,

also, to the beach, riding bikes.

I want to take them to camp and fish,

is it just going to remain a wish?

I want to teach them things I wish I'd been taught

and laugh with them, a lot!

I long for this

and more to be,

are just pain

and tears my destiny?

sad very sad ,we are always late ,when we face difficulties then we dream of having done things maybe we did not have time by then,oh if we only could do those small big things dear to our heart ,is it too late ,we still think we have so many yet to do ,but its fate, please dont be sad ,you never know what fate has hidden for you ,for me or anyone ,it does not take permission it just strikes ,this life ,sadly this life ,but it applies to all dear you are not alone in this ,we can get struck by it any moment ,and i would not take it so bad ,its not in our hands ,i know that before hand ,so i would not feel that bad though all my thoughts with you and i am sad, very sad

Your emotion practically bleeds through this piece. It flows wonderfully and your rhyming scheme is fantastic. Very well written!

The changes that life puts us through is not fair sometimes. It's cruel in some ways.
Alot of times what we could have done when we were young and fit, but chose not to do, haunt us later in life when we are no longer able.

barbara, this is heartwrenching plea of desire, and captured with specific intent, very well written
in way of forward motion, to hear the cries of destiny in the echoing chambers of one's own heart,
your words are filled with pain and the precise imagery and calculated sentencing really brings the
entire emphasis to surface, the reader a surging emotional rapid, my heart can't help but extend.

This tears at my heart. Such a heartfelt plea and surely not too much to ask.
Very moving poem.

I could feel your emotion and anguish in these words. Never knowing your destiny, how hard. Knowing that this world holds so many aspirations. I thought the poem was full of emotion and flowed smoothly. I wouldn't change a thing! Good job!
