My TomA Poem by Barbara WalkerWritten in 2008 edited 2013I first met my man, through a friend. I could not stay long, but I took special notice of him and leaving almost, felt wrong. The next few times i saw my man, I especially liked his smile. It melted my heart, I was his fan, gave him my number, hoping he'd dial. I saw him a few more times, usually at the home of my friend. I felt some positive signs; the kind a man and woman send. He isn't real flashy, "look at me", that I would abhor! He is calm and steady and that, I do adore! One night, a group of us were at my place and I tried like hell to hide it, but I couldn't keep my eyes off his face, I could not be still, I could not sit! I wanted to be by his side and, so unlike me, approached him, smiling wide and asked, "Is this seat free?" It felt like-this is where I belong and he seemed to feel that, too. What feels so right, can't be wrong and from that night, our love grew. He has a tender heart and a loving soul and he's intelligent, too. The sound of his voice warms my heart, he colors my world with a beautiful hue. My Tom hugs me, oh, just right, he has such a gentle touch. His kisses are absolutely out of sight and I love him, so, so much.
