Headless Chickens

Headless Chickens

A Poem by Barbara Walker

Headless chickens,

churning spinach,

muttering schemes.

What's going on?

Awfully bad dreams!

I am seething,

I long for you to laugh,

I beseech you,

you're teething!

Please, somebody wake me up!
