Black Tar Miles

Black Tar Miles

A Poem by Barbara Walker

Feelin' the world all before me,

I roamed across unfamiliar black tar miles.

I got lost in the big cities

and felt comfortable in the small towns.

They all had their good and bad sides of the track.

Now, I'm feelin' lonely and unfriendly,

missing friends and family.

Time to be headin' home,

time to be headin' back!

I feel fatigued after this read. I sense a longing and strong anticipation to be with those that you love, and those that love you. Travelling can make one grow OH so weary. I like how this piece creates a feeling of journeying as well as "tells" about it. Nice write!

Oooo sounds like you got to much adventuring in your life! Reminds me of my semi truck driving friend, after being out on the road for 6 weeks!
Great read!
