I am reading a book by Kim Addonizio and under her "new words" list, I found one that made me laugh. Rare in these trying times. It inspired me to write this piece. Dictionary, anyone?
well ... i looked it up of course and was surprised at the meaning ..dusk or twilight ... i suppose it's because the roosters shut up and go to roost eh!? ;) i like the straight forward simplicity of this one Barb .. universally relatable once one knows the meaning of cockshut .. does make one chuckle a bit doesn't it?! :))
this is whimsical .. a selfish moment one deserves says i! ... conjures many sunsets i have watched .. by me self .. no one else ... just ME :)))))) very enjoyable read says i!

Now they are talking pacemaker which puts me in a conundrum. I have been without dependable pain relief for over a year and my quality of life has gone down more than it already was. A doctor was telling me about a relatively new chronic pain treatment and when I looked into it, found out you can't do it if you have a pacemaker. Just my luck. Decisions, decisions

Dear Barbara, I think you must be a lady with a great sense of humour. Your avatar made me smile and then the title of this poem too. I did of. course use a dictionary and have to say I wholeheartedly agree with you. So today so far you have both educated me and brought a smile to my face and I thank you for that. All good wishes. Looking forward to reading more from your pen.

Thank you for reading and your comments. I am glad I could be of service! Lol
This is more than a word share, your new-to-me phrase conveys a whole mood, a time of day. I love how much you are connected by heart to the waning time of day. Even tho I feel this way about dawn & morning, it's fun to see it from another's POV, which you convey with enthusiasm & verve! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I am retired from the Postal Service. I find I write poetry to help myself through difficult times and I have written many poems in response to the chronic pain I've been living with for over 30 year.. more..
