This Is WhoA Poem by Barbara Walker
[color=violet] After a child is born,
this is who feels tired and worn. When baby can't sleep all night, this is who feels all uptight. When baby breaks out in a rash, this is who will do anything for medicine cash. When baby really does smile, this is who can brag about it for quite awhile. When baby says their first word, this is who prays it isn't "t**d". When a toddler refuses to eat, this is who cooks another kind of meat. When a toddler wants to go for a walk, this is who will never balk. When a sad toddler does weep, this is who doesn't get any sleep. When a preschooler is terrified of school, this is who tells him it's really cool. When a preschooler says a bad word, this is who hopes it's not f%*#, but t**d! When a boy doesn't want to do his school work, this is who won't let him be a dumb jerk. When a boy won't clean his room, this is who lowers the boom. When a boy gets drunk, this is who takes away his truck. When a boy does most things right, this is who tells him he's out of sight. When a boy thinks his face is a mess, this is who tells him he is the best. When a boy wants to take a girl to the prom, this is who he tells-his Mom! © 2010 Barbara Walker |
