Nine Months and Fifteen DaysA Poem by Barbara Walkerwritten for the day we sprinkled my sister's ashes in her favorite place
It's been nine months and fifteen days,
since you've been gone and there hasn't been a day that I haven't longed to touch you, to give you a hug, to hear your voice and your laugh that I love. We've all lost so much in losing you- a beloved mother, aunt, friend, sister and wife. Sue, we will all remember you, all of our lives. You mattered so much to us all, but, now, especially to Jack, because it's Fall. A time when he began married life with you and you were in everything he would do. How do you help someone who is so lost? We support him in any way that we can. On this day, that he is setting you free, we hope that his grieving will be lightened somewhat, his heart, not so heavy, giving him a feeling of healing. We know that you love Jack, so very much and we know that you would want him to feel God's healing touch.
