WhyA Poem by Barbara Walkerreasons for love
A warm hug on a cold night,
running your fingers through my hair, holding my hand at mornings light. Knowing when I need a drink to quench my thirst, waking me with the delicious aroma of coffee, letting me read the newspaper first. Being quiet while I read my book, starting the laundry just because, giving me that loving look. Making me laugh often and much, listening when I talk, taking me out to lunch. Buying me a present for no reason, not noticing when I say something stupid, taking me on a mountain drive in spring season Putting up with all of my ills, taking a nap with me, helping to pay the bills. Liking comedies as much as me, giving me space to write, taking time to read my poetry. Remembering to take out the trash, turning the tv up so I can hear, not minding skipping the New Year's bash. These reasons will give you a clue, though there are many more, as to why I love you as much as I do.
