Dirty Underpants

This poem is my way of sharing my views on a certain male fashion craze

Guys, young and not so young,

what makes you think we want to see your bum?

I ask you, please,

are you comfortable with pants around your knees?

I am appalled and look askance,

when you show your dirty underpants.

I'm sick of seeing your bum,

when will this fashion craze be done?

Although, it is hilarious and so much fun,

to watch you hold your pants when you try to run.

If you saw yourself from behind, walking,

you'd change your pants without balking,

because you'd see yourself holding your pants at the waist, so tight,

with knees bent outward to keep your jewels from the light.

To others, you look so asinine,

while you think you look, oh, so fine.

Please, get some pants that truly fit

and you'll be able to run and sit

and I can enjoy the sun,

instead of seeing your glaring bum.

I do so agree. I was on a cross-country flight once, and after I boarded and was wrestling with luggage in the over head compartment, this reed-thin young man with long greasy hair clad in enormous jeans had just found his seat across the aisle and three rows behind me. In all his activities before he finally sat, he mooned every section of the plane at least twice. I had to laugh, but really, it is distasteful.

Thank you! I appreciate the kind review! Yes, they supposedly are "hip" but they have been doing it so long, it's BORING AND STALE, and truthfully, I always thought it was so stupid.

It has always been stupid. We have them too, though not as many. Sometimes it looks like they got a helmet between their legs!! And a guy's bum is definately not cool...not even to ladies!

So disgusting a trend yet nicely depicted by those lines.... i Ones saw two images side by side-1 of some guy with sagging pants and the other a baboon with its red bum... the line under the images read "YOU WONT UNDERSTAND, IT'S A MONKEY THING".

Ha! I love that you wrote a poem about this horrible fad. I cannot stand seeing all the underwear out there. It is hilarious watching all these people become bow-legged to compensate for the falling down britches. Ya had me nodding my head with this one, Barbara! Angi~

You're lucky. We had a young man at work whose pants rode low, only he didn't wear underwear. He wore a long shirt that hid everything, but he would often pull his shirt up to wipe the sweat off of his face. Then we would all get a view! (He was quite overweight to boot) We kept telling him to stop it, but he would just laugh. They finally fired him for it. What a clueless idiot.

I don't like to see woman or men underwear in public. I don't believe they could think they are in style with a g-string or butt hanging out. Can be sexy wearing proper fitting clothing showing off your strong points. I like the poem. This problem have been around for a long time. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
