Rayce

Rayce

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

A poem i wrote for a little boy I used to babysit

"
There is a fair-haired little boy
and his name is Rayce.
In his bedroom next to the wall,
he has a wooden bookcase.

His Mother reads to him
each and every book
and as she shows the pictures,
he looks and looks and looks.

Rayce loves to jump and run,
he is a very active boy.
His favorite, favorite things
are his action toys.

Rayce had a very secret wish,
a wish that he could fly!
He wanted to fly off the ground
and go up so very high!

One day, he told his Dad,
about his secret wish.
To his surprise, Dad said,
"I think we can accomplish this!"

Dad brought home a parachute,
a harness and some ropes.
Then he said to Rayce,
"Now, we need a hillside slope."

They walked over to the school
and found the perfect place.
Rayce was so excited,
he was going up in space!

As the parachute filled with air,
it brought Rayce towards the sky.
His stomach felt so funny,
as he went up high.

He looked all around
and then, he laughed with glee.
"I'm flying, I'm flying,
everybody look at me!"

This is the end of my story,
about a fair-haired boy, named Rayce.
I hope he likes his story.
I hope he puts it in his bookcase!

Thank you!
A very entertaining tale. Good to read story and books to the child. Allow them to have dreams and hope. I like the complete tale. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
