Geometry

Geometry

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

Inspired by a fellow writers cafe writer

"
Circles
go on and on,
fooling you,
as they go nowhere.

Squares are manic depressive;
they speed along those straight lines,
then, have to brake, suddenly,
for those corners.

Triangles, almost,
do an about face,
I wonder if they
are coming or going?

Rectangles,
are indecisive.
They can't make up their mind,
whether to be short or long.

Pentagons and hexagons
are busy little guys,
geometry-
a metaphor for life.

Ovals are kind of indecisive too...cubes seem to know what it's all about...

Wonderful! I have always told people that if I ever were to get a tattoo (too old and wrinkled now), it would be a right triangle, and it would say "It's all about the Pythagorean theorem" I enjoy how you have given personality traits to shapes... you might be on to somethin'

I love this! It reminds me of "Flatland", a novel about creatures in a two-dimensional world where all the inhabitants are geometric shapes.
