Twins

Twins

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

Twins from beginning to end

"

Two peas in a pod...germinating,
Then, ripe to pluck...what luck!
A friend for life.

But...
Whose life will it be that first leaves?
...And the other?
Left hanging on a shriveled vine.

Dear Barbara,

Very nice. This was greatly enjoyed. I loved the simplicity of the piece.

High marks!

Best regards,

Rick

Not precisely "self-explanatory", but it seems that you've lost either a sister, or a child, or a dear friend. Indeed the "peas in a pod" allegory might be more apt than you realized, for if the pod has opened, and one has fallen, it can only be because both were ripe, and ready for the new germination phase! I hope this offers some comfort.

Subtle and nostalgic. A thought only a mother would embrace and I deeply appreciate you sharing it with me.

I actually really like the simplicity of it all. The analogy is strong
