Time TogetherA Poem by Barbara Walker3 sisters spending time together. We know one hasn't many months to live. non fiction
We live in the same city,
but, our other sister is far away. She flies in to spend ten days, the three of us; like the old days. We know you want good times, for the months you have left, so, my cries stay at home, before I leave. When I am with you, I turn away, when I feel my chest heave. I want lots of pictures, but videos will catch your voice and you, alive and in action, however, you wave me away, "Turn it off," you say. I comply, but, my inner voice is screaming, please, sis, can't you see why? My teeth clench and my jaw tightens, as I choke back the tears. On the way to the store, I turn on my phone's memo recorder, as you sing along, loudly and beautifully, to the radio. © 2012 Barbara WalkerReviews
