Young Women

Young Women

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

It seems to me that girls are far more into being whatever a boy wants them to be, than they are into learning and loving who they, themselves, are.

"
Oh, the tender hearts of little girls,
how they grow tenderer through the years.
When they should be learning of and loving their soul,
they want a boy to make them whole.
Quickly, they learn of lipstick and blush,
but, they desire more, to have a crush.
They find out what the boy desires and likes,
whether it's sports, cars or hikes.
His likes become her own
and the seeds for constant change are sown.
Ask her what she is all about
and her face reflects her own soul's doubt.

Hi Barbra... nice write. I had always thought it was a genetic thing... if girls weren’t a blank page, ready to be whatever influences them... they would NEVER have anything to do with boys and the human race would die out very quickly there after !

i agree to what you say, sometimes when you love someone so much that you follow what ever he/she says in what you should do, then you have lost who you really are and clouded with doubt. keep it up my friend its such a sensitive issue to write.
