Condemn The Innocent

Condemn The Innocent

A Poem by Casandra

Condemn the innocent
For it is the innocent who dream

Daring to defy mere normality
To grasp the stars above

Innocence births ill-fated loves
Murderers of the heart

A happy suicide
The death everyone must die

Innocence passed away today
Survived only by a hardened soul

Your words speak volumes and I love that. The lines:
"Innocence passed away today
Survived only by a hardened soul"
Its like the more you live the more you know you become bitter and the innocence that once made you who you are is gone. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great poem.

I love the couplet: "A happy suicide/ The death everyone must die"

It reminds me of Robert Frost's poem: "Nothing Gold Can Stay" with the idea of innocence fading away.
It's only one of two Robert Frost Poems I like, I reccomend you give it a read if you haven't already.
