Anti-HeroA Poem by K.P.H.Mnoun; a protagonist who lacks the attributes that make a heroic figure, as nobility of mind and spirit, a life or attitude marked by action or purpose, and the likeReminiscing all the past mistakes I made, They’re coming through clear as day. Rattling their bones in the tomb, I built for them to stay away, For shame, for shame, I dare say, Crying my life away, While mulling over the last remaining rosy rays, That beg me to stay. For what could take this pain away? Surely not you, Not if you stayed, Discussing the open wound, While consuming it too. You were always going to leave me, In a true blue state, Of missing you, Through and through. And for that I will, Reminisce the past mistakes I made, That are coming through clear as day, Placating me with false frozen rays, That melt in my stay, For shame, for shame, I dare say, Numbing my life away, While the haze blocks out your indifferent play, While you sharpen my glaze in the shade. And out of all the mistakes I made, Time after time, I never saw the signs, Thrones piercing my crown, Blooding dripping down, Making me drown. And the last thing I think is to, Reminisce the past mistakes I made, That are coming through as clear as day, Blinding me amongst the blades and rays, For shame, for shame, I dare say, Drinking my life away, Forever spiralling down this drain, Never truly seen for this pain. © 2023 K.P.H.MAuthor's Note
