Solace

Solace

A Poem by K.P.H.M
"

noun; comfort or consolation in times of distress or sadness.

"

As the precipitation clings to my skin,

I stand here,

Ready to begin.

Painted face,

Melted away.

My false persona,

Is circling the drain.

The coldness seeped under my skin,

Until I grow numb.

Smiling, I turned my head to the sky,

Not long before the rain ends,

Not long until till I can feel again.

This is a very impressive poem in that it has excellent imagery and word choice. I especially love the line, "Painted face,
Melted away.
My false persona,
Is circling the drain

I could relate to those images very well. One often feels this way after loss of composure in trying and testing times. I could also relate this to someone facing moments of anxiety before a public performance of some kind. Perhaps, these are my feelings because I'm often required to speak in gatherings and I suffer from stage fright. This was a great poem to read today.

"Not long until I can feel again " I think this final line just gathers all of this and brings it where it needs to be. You are an awesome poet and I am so thankful to find something new from you. Amazing. I need more
