tangled ties

tangled ties

A Poem by S. Michael Long

Tangled ties in bloodshot eyes
Lies the serpent and the storm

The commonplace that commences
defines the derivative of societal form.

To seek injustices, to call them out
Defines injustice in a source without.

To prey on favor from the cultish few
defines behaviours for the ego New.

To seek them out and break them down
renders one outcast from the cultish crown.

In all indifference that I wished they knew
In all injustice the chosen few.
