The Hunter

The Hunter

A Poem by Tyler

That angst you feel
An emptiness so profound
When you hurt
And drop to your knees
Laying next to the tears on the floor
A bite so calculated
It strikes you down
Know one in sight
Not a soul to save you
A white flag waived in vain
No surrender from this fight
The swiftest hunter has struck again
This time with no warning
She digs in and spreads
Like a disease
Ever so swiftly
It spreads through you
And seizes control
Your heart is the victim
Once again unsuspecting
Of the bitter lesson
That love bleeds you out
And leaves you hollow

...she digs in and spreads like a disease ever so swiftly. ...

Interesting choice words.

I like this especially the last 5 lines. It's like it tied it all together at the end. Good poem.
