A Mirrored Image, Love IncarnateA Poem by ewest1220Two hypocrites bound to what they see...A Mirrored Image, Love Incarnate By: Ethan West Fire awakens what hate could not Forever lost in tattered creed And beauty's soul in anger's rot Is left one final, tender plea I came upon her in brightest light My heart was blank, my soul was cold Struggling with bitter fight Struggling with darkness bold And in six words my heart felt rest My mind as restless as a bee My heart then put my mind to test As I outstretched my hand to thee But her mind is dark like mine As if to bathe in irony She sees herself in dark decline But all there is is light to me And so, alone, we share this fate We are two beautiful things to be Two souls divine, but full of hate Two hypocrites bound to what they see And the broken line that cleans our slate But ah alas, I am the dark Even though this, you say to me That I am the light within your eyes What a beautiful thing for us to see © 2012 ewest1220Author's Note
