![]() anne morrow lindbergh & the unicornA Poem by Evyn Rubin![]() in-progress, an attempt to present my research & opinions in a poetic way![]()
and what of Anne Morrow Lindbergh? She liked unicorns, but invoked a unicorn to escape from her obligation "Bring me a Unicorn!" she called imperiously in a poem because all was grey and war was nearby too close she wanted to break though the grey and dismal by invoking a mythological beast, to relieve her consciousness and I can understand that but
I can understand that but, I can understand that but with whom was her husband science partners with whom did her family vacation and what did he say, this Alexis Carrel
that the hospitals of the future would be "equipped with the proper gases" for the purpose of euthanasia this was the science partner of Charles Lindbergh the quote published in 1935 revealing in interest in the use of lethal gasses
such discussions took place in several circles. proposing the use of lethal gas in hospitals in prisons in special facilities I know of a dozen published remarks in English years before the Nazis did the deed
Anne Morrow witnessed a piece of this vaguely pondering in her diary what does this mean? almost getting it not quite getting it, and then in a poem weary and dreary from the approach of war she called for a unicorn to distract her to uplift her
I understand distraction and uplifting but there was, right in proximity to her evidence of a potential atrocity and she was not clear enough in her understanding to see a danger and warn the public
and what about me who claims a unicorn appeared to me once was I awake? asleep? Its not important. I see a danger a massive danger I think nukes are the next gas chambers the most dreadful thing on earth to clear out masses of people who are problems I’m not alone in thinking this
if you are in possession of information regarding a potential atrocity don’t you have to speak out about it before you play with your unicorn before you’re swallowed by a whale © 2010 Evyn Rubin |
