Becky's Bravado

Becky's Bravado

A Poem by Evyn Rubin
"

For a poetry group I'm in, we were given the prompt "What are you afraid of?"

"

I fear what?

I don't fear my shadow

although I did jump that time

when a cloud moved quickly

and my shadow emerged suddenly

the notorious exaggerated startle reflex

of people with p.t.s.d.

but I am actually

not afraid

of anything

danger stalks me

behind its back

I ridicule its face

A very nice piece of bravado! But I bet you whistle in the dark! :)
I hope your group liked this; I certainly did.
