Spiders

Spiders

A Poem by Evyn Rubin
"

based upon a true story

"

a huge mother spider, non-poisonous, surprising beige

then a brood of babies lining a juncture of molding to plywood

according to my affirmation: I am a person who enjoys solving a problem

I use my wide mouth critter catching jar

according to my affirmation:  I  am a person who is able to keep my cool

I blew my whole composure only at one point

a spider infestation just when I had got my living room looking so good

I had created more floor space reduced clutter large and small

these were ceiling spiders I took forty of them outside over three days

as I solve one problem I move on to the next

I've got this under control folks and determined

to eliminate any old remnants of spider webs

here and there might be construed as a welcome

a sign this place is spider friendly.  I mean

this mother-to-be picked my house

or had lived there hidden

thank you spider

bless you creator

I prefer them out of doors
