Psalm 147 Adapted

Psalm 147 Adapted

A Poem by Evyn Rubin
"

The beauty in this poem is from the Psalm, and all the details are from the Psalm. I adapted the structure and interwove my thoughts a bit, while using it as a prayer break many times.

"

She who hurled the ice caps into their places at the poles
She who designed the feeding system for the baby ravens

She who bandages the broken heart
She who makes peace within the gates of Jerusalem
She who told the psalmist She is not impressed
by the muscles of a charioteer's leg
or the horse power of his chariot
She who told the psalmist
She likes mortals to experience awe
at her creation   ---   help us now

help us refreeze the ice caps
help us freeze the casualty count
help us design constructive systems
help us restore the sky for birds

help us heal the wounded
help mortals make  peace

within the gates of Jerusalem

and elsewhere as needed

help mortals feel awe for Your creation

as needed and help mortal human beings

act as good ecologists upon our planet

because from Awe of creation

and caring among peoples

peace in Jerusalem may grow

bring it on Awe for creation

bring it on deeds of ecology

bring it on acts of co-operation

bring it on peace in Jerusalem

bring it on God of 147

bring peace for all

and honor for our planet
