![]() DemandsA Poem by Evyn Rubin![]() a response to current events![]() We demand: protection for and the full rights of all children everywhere the rights of all children to safety for their childhoods exemption for all children from the dangers of conflict and war
We demand that adults find a way to fight, if fight they must to fight only in such a way so to exempt children from the untoward consequences of fighting
We demand that all children be unbound from every alter that captive children be released that displaced children be restored that children in harm's way be at once fully protected from harm
We demand a zero casualty count with regard to children, to say the least This is our demand and our prayer We demand a zero casualty count our demand and our prayer
We demand the release of the three kidnapped Israeli students We demand the release of the Nigerian girls who remain kidnapped We demand the restoration of the Syrian children who were displaced
We demand the protection of all children the cessation of threats, words or deeds of injury to children and the remediation of that which is a danger
We demand utter security for both Israeli and Palestinian children all of whom already know the potential for harm against them and we call for all their protections without distinction of nationality, religion, or the politics of their parents
We demand on behalf of children named and unnamed whose plights are cited or not, known or not let their situations be remediated
We demand on behalf of Gilad Shaar, Eyal Yifrach, and Naftali Frenkle their immediate release from their captors
We beseech God's help that they be returned at once safely to their parents safely to their young lives
