they're calling

they're calling

A Poem by olyvia

you always leave me in the darkest nights

and i wonder how you can choose the ones who

you barely like over the one you love

listening to your footsteps as you walk

toward the door i hear your hollowness

echoing down the hall

am i not enough to make you stay?

i may not be as smooth as liquor

but i am certainly just as potent

and i can say i love you back

but how insulting of me to suggest

you need saving from drowning in alcohol

when really you are just swimming in it

you cannot be taught how to stay afloat

by a girl who

drowns in herself
