But Instead...

But Instead...

A Story by yellow devil

If I let you go, you will not fall.
The pain, you will soon forget it all.
And as you close your knowing eyes,
You'll wake to new memories in sunny skies.
A fading dream of newly forgotten scenes.
Replaced by truths of better things.
The random face of deja vu.
I walk away with my memories of you.
As I pass the flame to a broken king,
Pulsating shame begins to sting.
But I smile to hide the loss.
Broken, but breathing as I bear my cross.
Better things for them, that's my smile.
Working my demons, mile after mile.
