Sylvan Arms

Sylvan Arms

A Poem by eversosweetly
"

Have you ever driven down a road with trees on either side? If the trees are big enough, their branches will extend across the road and meet above you to make a "tunnel of trees". Beautiful.

On Sunday drives
    down winding roads,
        past barns,
           and fields,
             and quiet cemeteries,
my heart beats for the moment
(right in the bend of a curve)
              when the Earth
            reaches upward,
envelops my path with sylvan arms,
and clasps leafy hands above me
   in a breathless embrace.

Oh this is beauty itself...And I love that You used the word sylvan..I've quite forgotten about it...how lovely those tree "tunnels" are...to be swallowed by nature...lovely

Hello eversosweetly,

I like the format, it adds to the poem itself. I love the imagery you created. Very well done, great word use. Excellent work.

Regards,

Matthew
