Lickety SplitA Poem by eve roperhummingbirdLickety split In and out the hummingbird flits; Caught a glimpse of it sipping nectar of the Columbine. Kiss, a sip shades of red, orange, and bright pink as it flies up and down the vine, Eager to get to the next bloom, sound of hummmmm of it beating wings. These tiny sweet sucking nectar hovers in mid-air at rapid speed making rings. Yummy, yum sweet nectar from the vine, silver wings, along in the spring. Sipping little bird, tiniest I ever saw, away from meadows green. Pulling at my heartstrings, your rapid flapping wings plainly to be seen, Lighting speed, magical and free like a tiny fairy nectarous scent of femininity; In and out sipping nectar of spring serenity, Through wooden trellis in ecstasy. 4/13/5018 Copyright © Eve Roper © 2018 eve roper |
