The Awakening of a Golden TownA Poem by EveThere comes a time in everyone's life where we all need to change.Because the world is blind, I decided to see. I thought it to be about time that I stepped into the light. When I took a glance around the world, what I saw did not surprise- people dying, children crying, and people with nowhere to go. Yet out of the corner of my eye, I saw something odd. Something that was different. Something that was strange. In a small corner of the world, the streets are made of gold. People eat everyday, and everyone has a home. Though the rest of the world is blind, this place is by far the worst. They are not blind. No- they see it all. These people chose to ignore, and they chose to be deaf. They ignore those crying for help- Those who need to be saved Then I realized something awful. This horrific town was the place I was raised- The place I knew as my home. We are the selfish. We are the deaf. We are blind to all others. We can no longer ignore what has become of the world. We can no longer pretend that the world is still full of light. We can no longer forget and turn our backs on our brothers and sisters. No one is going to change unless we open their eyes. They must be awakened to the dark. They must fear the dark and destroy it. © 2015 EveAuthor's Note
