Fugitives: Chapter 15A Chapter by Eva Sirois
Later, I was on Lark's
bed, and she was brushing my hair. “Drake is stalking me,” I said in
disgust.
“What gave you that idea?” Lark asked in surprise. “Every time I turn around he's always there, watching, listening,” I explained. “He's creepy.” Lark was silent for a moment. “You're right; he is creepy. You should just ignore him, though. If it gets too out of hand, Asher will stop it.” A warm feeling arose inside of me. “Yes. Asher will stop him,” I said as if it was the most logical thing in the world. Lark's brush slowed. “Kya, you like Asher, don't you?” I stiffened. “What? No!” But even as I said it, I realized it was a lie. So did Lark. She didn't say anything else, but started singing softly under her breath. © 2011 Eva Sirois |
