Cigarettes & Guitar

Cigarettes & Guitar

A Poem by Eva
"

This poem is about when I first met my boyfriend and what my thoughts are about him.

"

A gentleman of vintage style
Classy but simple and reserved
With a black guitar in hand
Gifted with a talented signature touch
Playing music for all ears to listen
Flickers up a lighter for his cigarette
But lights up no more for me
Want more loving rewards of kisses
That encourages him to quit smoking
Fallen for an extraordinary man
Love the music he plays on his guitar
Leaving a huge impression upon my heart
Definitely lights a fire of desire and passion
Heart tainted by cigarettes long ago
Back at the time of high school
Just a phase for me 7 years ago
Before Audrey Hepburn had passed
Her love of Tiffany's and
The eagerness to smoke at adolescent age
Six cigarettes a day, her mother taught her
Had a cat named Tomorrow
Day after day of changes
The man who has everything I want is still the same
Sapphire blues and a musical heart
I was born for music since birth
He is made by natural for it
Guitar in hand, musician by trade
His music takes me by heart and soul
Fallen in love not cuz of his guitar
But cuz of the intrigue and mystery
