Thanks for GivingA Poem by Eunice CrankypontsThanks RagTag; you compelled me to write a new poem. It has been months! :)Something about Thanksgiving Causes a series of reflective points As if looking in a mirror Introspective natural feelings Reminiscent of friendships long since dissolved. Family members who have passed Longing for the days gone by Anticipation of delight.
Concentration of a melancholic nature Holidays! Resolving that friendships do not always last Resigning the ambivalence of my soul Freeing myself from the pain and anger Having only love left to give A gift not readily bestowed. Disallowing and disavowing hatred. Everlasting memories Unable to escape from the reality of truth
Solidifying my efficacy Abilities bestowed Yearning and pining Pining and learning Wonderment of this world People come and people go But forever imprinted on my soul. You'll remain until the end. © 2008 Eunice CrankypontsAuthor's Note
