Amid the vastness of this world Beguiling, attracting nothing Contemptuousness of humanity Driving toward the horizon Enthusiastically facing each day Freeing my blackened heart from it's cage Gaining confidence and solace Honoring no one but myself I incite insightfulness Judge, jury, and executioner of truth Kindred spirits detached Longing for kindness Meriting nothing from the enthusiasm Now understanding your stance Ostracized by strangers Perusing the crowd Quitting before I started Reasoning with my ego Stopping the insanity of the abuse Torturing my soul for what? Understanding it was not my cross to bear Varying degrees of caring and compassion Wondering where this will lead Xenophobia runs rampant in this land Yearning for an end to it Zen Buddhism paves the way to enlightenment?
