Light and Darkness

Light and Darkness

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts
"

Completely random

"

Sitting on the shores of love,

Longing for the ultimate

Testing the waters

The waves crashing in to me

Barreling me over

Carrying me away

Nearly drowning me

Lost in the vastness of the sea

Barely able to keep afloat

A lone lighthouse seen on the horizon

I reach up and out for it

Hoping the light will consume me

Energize me enough to reach the shore

Surrendering to the light

Feeling uplifted

Appreciative of it

Feeling all the angst melt away

Enlightened and elated

I swim fervently toward it

Going the distance

Only to find

I never left the shore to begin with

The light was always there

In the deep catacombs of my heart

In seeking it

I found me

It was very good, don't worry fragile ego. I like metaphors of light and darkness, but I believe people miss use the darkness saying its bad. I wrote my poems saying they are very good, just in there own ways. I ike this one, very well writen. Thank you for sharing.
