Destination Unknown

Destination Unknown

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts
"

Oh, what a ride in the country will do for you!

"

Past Austerlitz

Through Hudson Valley

Making our way.

Destination unknown

Leaves changing colors

Orange, red, yellow, green

Pine, Maple, Oak

The caretaker of the country

Growing leaves

Alcove constructed in stone

Mother Mary with Christ child,

Covered bridge of tree limbs

Blocking sunlight

A distinct smell of the country

Permeates the air

Country twang on the radio

(Makes me want to rip it from the dashboard)

Limitless road ahead

Leading toward a destination unknown

Weeping willow

Majestic beauty

God's masterpiece laid before my eyes

Almost willing me to shed my angst

Almost willing to show my beauty

Deeper in to the valley

Double layer of clouds overhead

What's the forecast?

Does it call for rain?

I love the rain,

In the clearing

Bright sunshine,

Saving the rain for another day.
