Locked Room

Locked Room

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts

Locked away in a dark room,
Is a glorious showcase hidden by gloom.
If only you'd come and give me the key,
You'd unlock the door and see the TRUE ME.
The  loving, caring, selfless side
Some of these feelings I can't help but hide.

These feelings are hidden to keep me safe.
Safe from wounds too strong to bear.
If only you'd come and give me the key,
You'd unlock the door and see the REAL ME.

I'd show you a place where few have gone,

My shrine, my palace, safe and strong.

Eunice Crankyponts
Hello, I wrote this poem when I was 18 right before I graduated high school which, was 18 years ago today. Ug, that was half my lifetime ago! WOW! Seems like yesterday and this is still how I protect my heart...some things never change. Well, enjoy the read and please comment.

This is awesome. I like the new take on the walls we put up around a heart. Our heart is now in a locked room. Very beautful
