Protective Mystery

Protective Mystery

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts
"

I think this speaks for itself

"

Feeling objectified, she cries

Fearing that's  how the world sees her

Somehow, she dies on the inside

Some would say it's

Beauty causing wonder

She surrounds herself in Protective mystery

Appears disinterested to shield her

She's Withering

Her soul is weeping

Pain riddled accusations

She has nothing left to give

Her mind wanders and escapes in to madness

Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be

Maybe that's the way they see her

Maybe it was not meant to be

You touch on the self-doubt everyone feels. That is not to say the work is trite, far from it. It has a unique honesty that keeps things fresh. I really like the opening line. It puts the emotion you feel in the reader like some blunt force trauma. There is not misunderstanding.

Great job.
