Roses, Rice, and Church Bells

Roses, Rice, and Church Bells

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts
"

I was passing by a church and the wedding party was outside - This is how I felt.

"

There she was standing in her white gown

More beautiful than the earth and sky

Her lips the palest pink

Her eyes wide and bright

Her groom with a wide smile on his face

As she walked down the aisle.

Air and fugue in C Minor

Played her Wedding March

As she drew closer to her groom

With tears in his eyes, he met her

The beauty of the day

Was not nearly as beautiful as their love

I sat in the crowd that gathered to watch

Longing for my own wedding song.
