Come to Me Viscerally?

Come to Me Viscerally?

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts
"

Many people connect online. Many people meet and get married after developing an online relationship. I am toying with this idea, here. I am trying to understand it and the stigma that surrounds it. Again, stream of consciousness like most of my poetry is

"

Endless days spent
Toying with the idea of love
Consummation of the soul
By fear
Fear is all relative now
Whining and pleading via email
Hoping for reciprocity
Cherishing what is said
Analysis of words
Until the true meaning is dead
Realization of delusion
Reading messages
Pallid and soulless
Responding with humor
Loving through email

Talk to me you blasted fool
Tell me what you are thinking
Do not shut me out
Do not walk away
Tell me what you are thinking
So I can get on with my day
You say that you live in fear
What’s so scary?
Liars served up on a platter
Honesty gets us through
Carries on to the next level
Friendships come and go
No matter how hard I try
Never really connecting
Flighty and visceral
Not me, I’ll fight that
Visceral?
Existentially?
