Stifle, Edith

Stifle, Edith

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts

Stop Reading farther in to my words
Than need be
Stop stifling me
I am not your Edith,You are not my Archie
My soul is my soul, and you cannot have it
It is not yours to keep
I am not a possession
You are possessed
Obsessed with making it work
You need to relax
Stumbling angrily to the door
Slam your fists
Throw it out the door
Make it real, Make it hurt
Anger, pain, and disappointment
A hole in the wall as a reminder
Resolve to heal
Or
Let it consume you
Just please stop stifling me
Let it be
Selfishness is not becoming
Nothing will make it right
Nothing can remove retrospective angst
She did it to you
Not me
Only YOU can heal it
