After the Storm

After the Storm

A Poem by Eunice Crankyponts

Pouring rain thunder and lightning,
After the storm, what else is there?
After the hazy fog, enters the light
Find the light, embrace it with a vengeance
After all the chances, the day is over
Finality of life, breathing is only the beginning
Mortality set in
Immortality, what's that?
I grieve this loss as any other
Indelible mark but keeping it forever muted
Brilliant colors of the rainbow have lost their shine
The selfishness of it all is realized
Complications, complicated, whatever
Foggy thoughts, foggy feelings
Censorship of my soul.
