Betrayal

Betrayal

A Poem by Meghan Renee

The bullet grazes the heart, taking the lungs out first
Crippling you
Leaving you gasping " begging for something different
Anything but this
Disgust and shame
Broken trust
Attempt at mending a damned relationship
Seeking love between the cracks
There’s so much left unspoken
Words and feelings that leave you empty
Nothing can fix what has happened
How do you move on?
Ignorance is bliss, perhaps
Reality is but a cruel reminder
And maybe it’s best to leave it at that.

Writing is both my passion and coping mechanism. When I was twelve/thirteen, I became incredibly depressed. I couldn't get out of bed and ended up dropping out of school for the next two years. Dur.. more..
