Forget-Me-Knot

Forget-Me-Knot

A Poem by etrntruth

Wrapped around your finger,
I'm like a piece of string.
You've tied me in a knot, and
now the numbness starts to sting.

I'm stuck against your digit,
and I'm well worn in the groove.
We've left this undecided -
both afraid to touch or move.

My stomach starts to fidget;
raw emotions flood my sense.
But I can't help but wonder
where the hungry feeling went.

The ebbing feelings linger, and
I'm coarse against your skin.
But this bruised, taut, Forget-Me-Knot
needs more than could-have-beens.
