The Lady On The Bench

The Lady On The Bench

A Poem by Ethan Boroian

How to describe one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen,

A pregnant lady on a bench who is as sweet as can be,

She would always smile, wave, and greet any old stranger,

She feared not a thing, and didn’t believe in danger,

So I asked her one-day “how is it that you are so full of love?”

And she responded, “I’m not really sure, but that I have a lot of”,

This puzzled me for months until the day I discovered,

The lady had triplets; she was a proud new mother,

Thinking back when she was pregnant, I finally understood,

Because four hearts love more, than any one could…

Oh Ethan, what a sweet and beautiful poem. Melted my heart, and most at the end... I cannot imagine having triplets (lol) But I could see this woman that you describe, her face, her smile, and when she was waving and greeting people.. I could imagine that probably she was hearing the sound of these 3 hearts...

I have to say, ive read a few of your pieces and each one of them makes me smile.
You have an ability to take everyday perdicaments, and turn them into a story that has some type of witty, or clever ending.
I am starting to become a fan of yours.

As for this piece, it was great. Havin a pregnant woman be a symbol for love is perfect in my eyes. After all, whats better than a mothers love?
Wonderfull piece, i will deffinitly be reading more of your work-

Harmony.
