Death

Death

A Poem by Atheana Kylee-S. C.

Through down a rose

Watch as it falls into my casket

Let the whispers of the dead

Consume me

Walk into this graveyard at midnight

And hear my cries

Let the smell of death

Eat you alive

Fears come out of your soul

As they fly out to haunt you

You stand there helplessly

Waiting for me to rise from my grave

You await the day

That I am to awaken again

Keep breathing this fillthy air

'Til your lungs can't stand it

You start to gasp for air

And then is when

I come out of my grave

Only to see that your lungs,

Couldn't take more of this unbreathable air

So now you lay there

So still, and lifeless

I stare at your body

Hoping that it's not too late

I slowly pick up your body

I carry it out of the graveyard

I place it down on the ground gentely

I watch as you start to breathe again

You look shocked when you first woke up

You saw me, and gasped

You welcomed me

But I just began to slowly walk away

You asked why I was leaving

And what I said was:

'Death has already consumed me.'
