Ly-co-ki-we (Dunewood Trace)

Ly-co-ki-we (Dunewood Trace)

A Poem by Eternal Poet

Through an eternal lonesome myriad

Of dark, gray monumental autumn days

Ly-co-ki-we always brings forth the best in me

Among the protective shelter womb canopy

Of rustling sugar maple, oak and dogwood

Benevolent light burns from my unguarded spirit

Some call it an aura, but I know it as adoration

Blossoming hearts given up freely, with nothing

Wished in return, a lotus, a blessed gift to the world

Dispelling hatred, darkness, discord and death

Such magnificent clarity in the brevity of afternoon sun

Each plant, each leaf, every stone, vibrating in harmony

I rejoice and celebrate amongst these hidden sandy ridges

This ancient trail, a beautiful altar, never to be forgotten

Ascending the graceful windswept Dunewood Trace

Into a majestic glorious indigo sunset, mystical and heavenly

The scarlet sun slowly descending, trespassing boundaries

Merging in gentle communion with the Lake Michigan shoreline

Dissipating across the immense vastness of inland wetlands and savannah
