Mishigami

Mishigami

A Poem by Eternal Poet

We followed winding paths

of windswept sand

Upon a magnificent shoreline

that once was sacred

Traversing ancient trails

of Potawatomi and Miami

Dreams of Everest

Amid memories of Rainier

We only trace majestic outlines

of moraines and golden dunes here

Cool winds sweep ashore

from indigo blue Mishigami

A restless August breeze

gently rustling cottonwoods

Somewhere Deep down

in the solitude of Paradise valley

A magnificent discovery

an inflorescent orchid flower

Great marsh silver maple scarlet

reminding me of autumn

Pushing on through lush fragrant

stands of jack pine and  juniper

We ascend three peaks

Mount Jackson, Holden and Tom

Our gift a blessed vista

of glimmering cerulean waves

Mightily crashing upon

a lonesome pebbly beach
