A Tribute to LadyA Poem by EFidelityTrying to save a puppy a rescue under way her breed is not apparent border collie mix? Dog pound calls a rescue group a sheltie mix they say likely not, to save her life they take her anyway. Several re-homes later, still a misfit dog She loves too much, her human beings Will Prozc takes off the edge? She is a self-mutilator, life is just too hard No rescue group will take her, no family can endure A very wounded Lady, cannot be left alone The writing's on the wall, her time on earth almost done Is it mercy or selfishness to send her to the Bridge? Oh the anguish, oh the tears, oh the heartache, oh the tears Our sad sad eyes connect while lying on the floor Dog is God spelled backwards, her eyes say let me go I love you Lady, you're in my heart; you died in loving arms.
