When Two Hearts Finally Meet

This is for him. Whoever he may be.

I don't know who you are or when

we'll meet. Every now and then

I imagine the moment and the

image is sweet.

You catch my gaze

and start to smile, you walk

my way and tell me your name;

little do we know our lives will

never be the same...

It's one year later and

you take my hand, as we walk

along the beach on the moonlit 

sand. You tell me you love me

as you bend on one knee,

then you utter these four 

words perfectly

Will you marry me?

"It took you awhile."

You look at me a little confused.

I look into your eyes and smile.

"My entire life I've been waiting

to meet you. I prayed that God

would send you when the time

was right. And now here we are one 

year later on this beautiful night."

You continue to gaze, as if

my answer is still unclear.

I lean in and whispered in your ear;

"I love you. I've loved you my whole

life. From the moment we were born,

God knew I would take your last name

and you'd call me your wife."
